Brief Description : An opportunity has arisen at Glebe Primary School to assist the Site Manager on a daily basis, providing an effective caretaking service ensuring the school is safe and fit for purpose.

 

Qualifications Required : Maths and English Grade C/4 or above.
Maths and English will also be assessed as part of the interview process.

An opportunity has arisen at Glebe Primary School to assist the Site Manager on a daily basis, providing an effective caretaking service ensuring the school is safe and fit for purpose. Alongside this the successful applicant will be working towards gaining a Level 3 Facilities Management Supervisor Qualification.


The normal duties of the post holder will include the following and other duties as deemed appropriate by the Head Teacher.
Caretaking -To liaise with the Site Manager with regard to caretaking requirements, duties/problems/developments in the school and agree daily job priorities.
Cleaning -Working under the direction of Site Manager, Class Teachers and other staff to support cleaning/maintenance functions.
Porterage -To transfer goods delivered to appropriate location.
Lettings -In accordance with the school lettings policy, to cover lettings of school premises as appropriate including opening and locking up and general supervision
Contractors - Assist the Site Manager with supervision of premises whilst contractors are on site, including opening and closing the school.
Security & Safeguarding -The locking and unlocking of school site, ensuring the site is safe and secure at the end of each day and alarms are activated/deactivated within policy and regulations.
Health & Safety
To ensure caretaking duties are undertaken in accordance with Health and Safety
legislation and to wear protective clothing as required.
General- To contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.

Working Week : 36 Hours per Week
Salary : £234.00 Per Week

Good written and verbal literacy and numeracy skills
Strong ICT skills, including knowledge of databases
Good time management skills and ability to work to deadlines
Able to maintain an orderly and safe working environment
Able to identify and respond effectively to potential and existing
hazards
Ability to take direction from Line Manager
Practical and have an interest in DIY.

Future Prospects : Full-time employment for the right candidate upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
Training to be Provided : Facilities Management Supervisor Level 3
Maths and English if required
Things to consider : Previous experience of working within an education setting and around children desirable
A DBS certificate will be required
