Qualifications Required : Employer has requested Maths and English Grade C/4 or above.
However, Maths and English will be assessed as part of the interview process.
Vacancy Detail : 4Kidz Childcare have a fantastic opportunity for an apprentice to join their busy nursery in Welwyn Garden City. The nursery apprentice is line managed by the manager of the nursery. They are to assist in providing a safe, caring and professional environment for the children in their care. Alongside this the successful applicant will be working towards their Level 2 Childrens and Young Persons workforce qualification.

MAIN DUTIES
 To provide and maintain close supervision of all children in your care at all times including meals
and care routines
 To provide a safe and stimulating environment within the established guidelines of the nursery
 To strictly adhere to the agreed nursery discipline procedures
 To work within the team to assist in planning the curriculum that encourages the development of
each child through the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage
 To help set up the rooms for the daily activities and to help tidy away at the end of the day
 To act as a key worker to a small group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers and ensuring
each child’s needs are recognized and met
 To plan and implement effective displays of children's work
 To help promote a teamwork environment in conjunction with other staff and students
 To maintain confidentiality at all times regarding information about children, their families or other
staff, which is acquired as part of the job
 To ensure that your line manager is aware of any incidents affecting the welfare of the children in
your care.
 To help maintain the building in a safe and clean condition ensuring all faults are reported through
the appropriate channels
 To attend meetings with other staff or parents as required, even when outside normal working
hours
 To ensure your minimum requirements, as stated above, are met and maintained at all times
 To attend further training, meetings and events both paid and unpaid as per code of
conduct/contract
 To assist in maintaining children’s records
 To be committed to developing and maintaining a multi cultural, anti racist, non sexist
environment, respecting the children’s individual differences
 To maintain close liaison with parents of each child in your care, including consultations
 To adhere to the dress code of the nursery
 To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the manager, in accordance with the
nurseries business plan/objectives
Number of Positions Available : 2
Working Week : 40hrs
Salary : £240.00 Per Week

Training to be Provided : The Children and Young People's Workforce Intermediate Apprenticeship includes Certificate for Children and Young People's Workforce L2, Award in Employment Responsibilities and Rights in Health, Social Care or Children and Young People's Settings (ERR) L2, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PTTLS) Maths, English and ICT if required
