Brief Description : B&M Care an award-winning family owned chain of Adult Care Homes have an exciting opportunity at the Montrose Care Home in Watford and are recruiting for two Apprentice Adult care Workers to join their friendly team and gain a Level 2 Care Qualification.
Qualifications Required : None required though Maths and English will be assessed as part of the application process, Applicants would need to be working towards Level 1 Maths and English for the content of the programme.
Vacancy Detail : Duties to include:
Support residents with all aspects of personal care, whilst maintaining and promoting independence.
Support residents with feeding as required.
Support residents to use the environment in accordance with their care plan.
To ensure that residents are properly dressed and in possession of their individual aids, i.e. dentures, hearing aids, walking frames etc.
Ensure that resident’s clothes are cared for and clothing that is to be repaired or beyond repair is reported to housekeeping or a family member.
To observe and report any physical, physiological and emotional changes to the well-being of the resident to a member of the senior team.
To identify and meet the social, emotional and cultural needs of residents and participate in the organisation for social and recreational activities.
Support residents to use the environment to its full potential including the outside environment taking into account each individuals mobility needs.
To undertake the role of the keyworker in relation to each individual care homes guidelines.
Laying tables, preparing trays for meals and serving food to residents.
Making and serving refreshments for residents and visitors as required.
Leaving bedrooms to a presentable standard which will include bed making, tidying draws and wardrobes and emptying bins.
Assist and promote good housekeeping throughout the home.
To ensure that clean clothing and linen are distributed to the appropriate residents and areas.
Toilets and showers are cleaned in compliance with infection control guidelines.
Awareness of medication procedures.
To understand all of the care homes policies and procedures paying particular attention to whistleblowing and confidentiality.
To be able to produce legible and accurate documentation in relation to care plans and other reporting and recording of information.
To attend and contribute to staff meetings.
To participate and contribute to reviews and assessments.
Assist senior staff with the admission of new residents in order to create a welcoming atmosphere and to welcome residents, relatives and friends into the home.
To attend all training sessions, supervisions and appraisals.
The duties listed above are the basic tasks expected of a Care Assistant in the normal course of their duty, but you should recognise that there will be variations and some expectancy of flexibility in order to care for individual residents and their requirements.

Working Week : 30 hours p/w Shifts 8-2/2-8pm
Salary : £177.00 Per Week

Future Prospects : Opportunities to develop further and train to become senior carer. Opportunities to attend areas of training where special interest is expressed.

Other Information : Applicants be need to have an enhanced DBS Check as well as two satisfactory references before any offer of employment can be confirmed.
Things to consider : Our residents rely on us to be hear 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We are looking for someone who is dedicated and is able to progress within the industry.
