Brief Description : Chesham Bois Manor Care have Level two Apprentice Care Assistant positions available with B&M Care.
Qualifications Required : An employer will determine their own entry requirements for an employee to commence this apprenticeship, but these general entry requirements apply; you have to be aged 16 years or over. No specific qualifications are required however maths and english will be assessed as part of the interview process.
Vacancy Detail : Duties to include:
Support residents with all aspects of personal care, whilst maintaining and promoting independence.
Support residents with feeding as required.
Support residents to use the environment in accordance with their care plan.
To ensure that residents are properly dressed and in possession of their individual aids, i.e. dentures, hearing aids, walking frames etc.
Ensure that resident’s clothes are cared for and clothing that is to be repaired or beyond repair is reported to housekeeping or a family member.
To observe and report any physical, physiological and emotional changes to the well-being of the resident to a member of the senior team.
To identify and meet the social, emotional and cultural needs of residents and participate in the organisation for social and recreational activities.
Support residents to use the environment to its full potential including the outside environment taking into account each individuals mobility needs.
To undertake the role of the keyworker in relation to each individual care homes guidelines.
Laying tables, preparing trays for meals and serving food to residents.
Making and serving refreshments for residents and visitors as required.
Leaving bedrooms to a presentable standard which will include bed making, tidying draws and wardrobes and emptying bins.
Assist and promote good housekeeping throughout the home.
To ensure that clean clothing and linen are distributed to the appropriate residents and areas.
Toilets and showers are cleaned in compliance with infection control guidelines.
Awareness of medication procedures.
To understand all of the care homes policies and procedures paying particular attention to whistleblowing and confidentiality.
To be able to produce legible and accurate documentation in relation to care plans and other reporting and recording of information.
To attend and contribute to staff meetings.
To participate and contribute to reviews and assessments.
Assist senior staff with the admission of new residents in order to create a welcoming atmosphere and to welcome residents, relatives and friends into the home.
To attend all training sessions, supervisions and appraisals.
The duties listed above are the basic tasks expected of a Care Assistant in the normal course of their duty, but you should recognise that there will be variations and some expectancy of flexibility in order to care for individual residents and their requirements.
This job description may be changed or varied according to the future needs of the residents or the changing trends of care.
Number of Positions Available : 2
Working Week : 36hrs - 5 days p/w incl weekends.
Salary : £288.00 Per Week

Skills Required : Must be Physically fit enough to cope with demands of the role - This is a physical role and will involve

Must be responsible and confident reporting issues or concerns to Management or appropriate person.
Future Prospects : Upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship, Employees will have the opportunity for further training and career development.
Training to be Provided : Level 2 NVQ Adult Care Worker.
Things to consider : Working in Social care will involve enhanced DBS disclosure checks and employment will only be offered to candidates with satisfactory references.
